One cool crisp autumn long weekend we took a short motor trip to the central portion of the state of Ohio to visit three outlet malls. When in the Columbus, Ohio, area we paused to have brunch. Upon entering the eating establishment our eyes were dazzled by the sea of scarlet and gray colors worn by both the patrons and the serving staff. Of course, such a phenomenal sight prompted us to query our server concerning this unusual and easy on the eyes sight. The servers reply, and mode of dress, left no doubt that she and many patrons were huge supporters of the Ohio State University and the OSU football staff and team. The server explained that the support for OSU and Columbus was a stellar testament to the community sense of pride in their city, state, and the OSU sports programs. If you find yourself in Ohio, visiting or passing through, you may want to stop, stay, and experience the “Scarlet And Gray” tradition of support for their community. This ornament is our way of saluting all of the citizens that embrace support for the tradition of community pride.
